Privacy Policy
Mofi Study is a study timer with a room you decorate. This page explains what the app collects, why, who else handles it, and how to delete it. The short version: we collect what the app needs to work, we never sell it, and you can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
What we collect
Your account
When you sign in with Apple (or Google on Android) we receive a stable account identifier, and the email address and name you choose to share. If you hide your email, Apple gives us a private relay address instead. Your name is used only to greet you in the app. It is never shown to other people.
Your study time
When you start and finish a focus session, the app tells our server, and the server records when it started, when it ended, how many minutes it lasted, the day, and your time zone offset. We measure time on the server so the minutes your friends see are real.
Your progress and settings
So your room follows you to a new device, the app backs up its saved data to your account: coins, items you own and where you placed them, your room, theme, outfit, timer durations, sound settings, to-do items and similar in-app state.
Friends and groups (only if you use them)
- A friend code, so people you give it to can add you. You cannot be searched for by name or email.
- A display name for friends, only if you type one. It is empty by default.
- Your friend list, pending requests, blocks, and study groups you create or join.
- A snapshot of your room, if you let friends visit it. You can turn this off in Friends.
- Reports you send about another user.
Friends can see your display name, your study minutes, whether you are studying right now, and your room if visits are on. Group members see each other's weekly minutes in that group.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token so we can tell you about your friends' study moments, like a streak or a late night session. You can turn friend notifications off in Friends, or turn off notifications for Mofi Study in iOS Settings. Timer notifications are scheduled on your device and do not go through our server.
What we do not collect
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and the app does not ask for tracking permission.
- We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or microphone.
- We do not see your payment details. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple (or Google Play).
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
Other companies involved
- Cloudflare hosts our server, database and music. Like any web host, it processes your IP address to deliver requests and to protect against abuse. Our database is stored in Cloudflare's Eastern Europe region.
- Apple (and Google on Android) handle sign-in, purchases and push notifications.
- Google AdMob shows ads to users on the free version, only between a focus session and a break, never during focus. We request non-personalized ads only. AdMob may still receive device and network information, such as your IP address, to deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services. If you have premium or are in your free trial, the ad SDK is not started at all.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Refresh tokens expire on their own. When you delete your account, everything listed above is deleted from our server immediately: your account, study sessions, backup, friendships, group memberships, room snapshot and push tokens. Groups you own pass to the longest-standing member, or are deleted if you were the last one.
Data stored only on your device, like your local save, stays there until you delete the app.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: in the app, open the menu, tap Account, then Delete account.
- Sign out: same place, Sign out.
- Access or correct your data, or ask a question: email support@mofistudy.com. We answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU or KVKK in Türkiye), you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Mofi Study is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app.
